Museum Bredius
In the heart of The Hague, across from the Mauritshuis museum on Hofvijver lake, lies Museum Bredius. A magnificent 18th-century house, home to the private collection of leading art scholar, archive researcher, publicist, collector and philanthropist Dr Abraham Bredius (1855-1946).
The 200 paintings and drawings include works by famous masters such as Rembrandt, Jan Steen, Aert van de Neer and Meindert Hobbema. Museum Bredius also has the only work by Matthias Stomer in the Netherlands, and the Netherlands’ only perspective box.
